This project entailed exploring spatial simultaneity within my apartment, which became an “art gallery” when occupied in certain ways, but remained domestic space as well. Jersey Farm suggested that the space of “the gallery” is created through a contingent set of actions, and is an accessible social space that anyone can create in spaces they already can utilize. (Emily Hemeyer‘s SPORE Projects van gallery was a major inspiration.) Several art installations and live music and dance events took place under the name “Jersey Farm,” which referenced a Jersey Farm Ice Cream sign that was installed on the wall.
